Technology

Engineered, not assembled.

Every KILLABRUSH is the result of deliberate choices - from the technology inside the bristle to the way it sits in your hand. Here’s what goes into the world’s first active antimicrobial hairbrush.

Our Approach

Build the solution in. Don’t bolt it on.

The best engineering disappears. Rather than adding features to the outside of a brush, we design them into the product from the start, so the result feels simple, even when the thinking behind it isn’t. That principle runs through everything we make.

The Pillars

Four ideas in every brush.

BioBristle™

Active antimicrobial technology embedded into the bristle material, designed to reduce bacteria on the bristle surface for the life of the brush.

Material engineering

Considered materials chosen for durability, finish and feel - so the brush performs and lasts, not just looks the part.

Ergonomic design

Balanced in the hand and engineered for control, with a form that’s as comfortable for a professional as it is for everyday use.

Tested to standard

Antimicrobial performance assessed against the ISO 22196 international standard - not marketing language.

The Headline Technology

BioBristle™ protection built into every bristle.

Our defining innovation. BioBristle™ is an active antimicrobial technology integrated into the bristle material during manufacture - not a coating that wears off. Because it’s embedded rather than applied, it keeps working through brushing and washing, for the working life of the brush.

It’s the reason we can call KILLABRUSH the world’s first active antimicrobial hairbrush.

Design & Materials

Made to be used and to last.

Technology only matters if the tool itself is a pleasure to use. We obsess over the details that don’t make the headlines: the weight and balance in your hand, the finish of the handle, the spacing and flex of the bristles, and materials chosen to hold up to daily use.

The goal is a brush that earns its place on your side - one you actually want to reach for.

Proven to a standard.

ISO 22196 the international standard for measuring antimicrobial activity
99.9%* reduction of bacteria on the bristle surface under test conditions
18mo designed active lifespan across normal use
How We Test

Why the standard matters.

Plenty of products claim to be ‘antibacterial’. Far fewer say how they’ve measured it. We assess BioBristle™ against ISO 22196 - a recognised international method for evaluating antimicrobial activity on surfaces - so our claims are grounded in a repeatable test rather than a slogan.

We’re committed to being specific about what we measure, and clear about what it does and doesn’t mean. Certification documentation is available to trade partners and on request.

Technology questions

Is the antimicrobial a spray or coating?

No - it’s embedded into the bristle material itself. That’s what allows it to keep working through brushing and washing rather than wearing away. Full detail is on our BioBristle™ page.

What does ISO 22196 actually test?

ISO 22196 is an internationally recognised method for measuring antimicrobial activity on the surface of a material under defined laboratory conditions. It’s the standard we use to assess BioBristle™.

How long does the technology stay active?

BioBristle™ is designed to remain active for the working life of the brush - around twelve months of normal use.

Can I see the certification?

Yes. Certification documentation is available to trade partners and on request - get in touch and we’ll share it.
